One In Three Planning 'a Financial Overhaul' |
|
(18th February 2008)
Some 75 per cent of people planning to economise believe they will be able to save money with a financial overhaul, according to Friends Provident.
The survey may interest those looking for cheap loans, as it was found that 33 per cent of those asked were looking to "secure better deals on their finances".
Director of marketing at Friends Provident James Ward commented: "The credit crunch is already impacting on consumers, both financially and psychologically. Our research found that 40 per cent of people are worrying more about their finances because of the credit crunch."
However, the research also showed that 85 per cent of people felt that lending money to friends could "sour friendships", which could mean more people seek a cheap loan from a financial institution instead.
A recent survey by the Halifax showed that January is normally the most popular time to consolidate debts with a cheap loan, as most people use the beginning of the year to get their finances in order.
