'Plan Ahead For Saturday Splurge' |
|
(21st May 2008)
Briton's spend the majority of their money on Saturdays, according to new research from the Cooperative Bank.
With the average spending per person apparently at £175 each Saturday, people need to plan ahead to find products, such as the best credit card deals, to minimise the size of their ensuing bills.
Over half of Brits surveyed believed they work so hard in the week they deserve to splash out on everything from food and drink to clothes and entertainment once the weekend arrives.
With some of the longest working hours per week in Europe this phenomenon is perhaps understandable, but shrewd examination of credit card comparisons may save Brits a great deal on their Saturday spending.
Maxine Xodo, product manager for the Cooperative Bank Credit Cards, warned: "It is important for people to plan ahead with their spending so it doesn't come as a surprise when the bills come through the door."
Furthermore, football fans should be aware of overseas charges on credit cards affiliated with their clubs, according to Abbey.
