Budgeting Steps 'needed' For British Consumers |
|
(28th May 2008)
Steps such as transferring to a zero per cent credit card could help those reassessing their finances in the wake of rising living costs, according to Alliance & Leicester.
Research from the bank has shown that 55 per cent of British people are already taking steps towards improving their financial health, resulting in the publication of a list of top money-saving methods.
It has been revealed that the top way of saving money is changing utility bill providers, followed by changing to the best credit card deal, a task undertaken by 12 per cent of people asked.
Current account manager Emma Walkley explained: "It is encouraging to see people are making positive changes to their spending and budgeting habits. Taking advantage of the best financial deals on the market is always important, but more so in the current environment."
Football fans could need to be particularly thrifty in the current climate, as Sainsbury's Bank have revealed that those who travelled to Moscow for the Uefa Champions League Cup Final spent an average of £624 each, highlighting the importance of getting a good deal.
