Credit Card Security Highlighted |
|
(30th May 2008)
While the importance of finding the best credit card deal may be a prevalent thought for some consumers, a spokesperson for APACS has commented on the issue of credit card security.
Speaking on behalf of the UK trade association, the representative explained that it is an issue which more consumers should be aware of as many did not protect themselves on a daily basis.
"It's about reminding people about the simple things they can do to enhance the security measures that are already in place," she commented, adding that shielding PIN numbers and checking bank statements were issues that should still be taken onboard.
In a survey by Which? it was revealed that one third of those questioned had been the victim of theft from their credit card and bank account.
Consumers living in London are most at risk, according to the CPP who released research earlier in the year showing that the capital is the worst location in the UK for theft and fraud of credit and debit cards.
